Christoph T. Maier
Dr. Christoph T. Maier studied at the University of Basel and the University of St. Andrews before he ultimately received his PHD from the University of London in 1990. He currently teaches medieval history at the University of Zurich. His primary area of interest is the history of the crusades with an special emphasis on clerical preaching.

Preaching the Crusade: Mendicant Friars and the Cross in the Thirteenth Century published by Cambridge University Press in 1994 and Crusade Propaganda and Ideology: Model Sermons for the Preaching of the Cross also published by Cambridge University Press in 2000. He also serves as the book reviews editor for Crusades: The Journal for the Society for the Study of the Crusades and the Latin East[SSCLE].
