		Comnenus Dynasty
The powerful and influencial reign of the Comnenus family began in 1081 when Alexius I Comnenus seized the Byzantine throne. The dynasty lasted over one hundred years ending in 1185 with the death of Andronicus I Comnenus at the hands of an angry mob.
