James Brundage
Dr. James A. Brundage. Professor Emeritus of the University of Kansas, received his PhD from Fordham University in the 1950s. After a lengthy and impressive scholarly career Dr. Brundage has been refered to as Fordham's "most famous graduate" by other Medievalists who have studied at Fordham including 1999 PhD graduate Dr. Paul Halsall.

No one would dispute Dr. Brundage's place as one of the leading American scholars of both the crusades and canon law during the last 50 years. His excellent scholarship is both broad and varied. He has been a member of various scholarly societies including the Society for the Study of the Crusades in the Latin East. He has presented or presided at numerous conferences during his lengthy career and continues to moderate panels for the SSCLE and at the annual Congress of Medieval Studies at Kalamazoo, Michigan.
