| Malcolm Barber | ||||||||
| Dr. Malcolm Barber is Professor of Medieval History at the University of Reading. Any student of the crusades is aware of Dr. Barber's large body of scholarly works on the crusades or related subjects, especially his scholarship on the Knights Templars and the Albigensian Crusade. In addition to his numerous editing projects, Dr. Barber has authored five books with another forthcoming and has over forty articles in various publications. His research statement on his curriculum vitae is as follows, "My research interests are in the crusades and the Latin states in the East (especially in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries), military orders (especially the Templars), heresy (especially the Cathars), and social and environmental change in the High Middle Ages." Dr. Barber currently holds the position of Research Fellow in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and is the former Director of the Graduate Center for Medieval Studies.
