Marcus Bull
Dr. Marcus Bull is Senior Lecturer in Medieval History at the University of Bristol. While his research interests in the middle ages are broad and varied, he has contributed extensively to modern scholarly understandings of the crusading era. His specific interests in the crusading movement are the origins of the crusades and the motivations of those who took part. He is currently preparing a revised edition of the anonymous Gesta Francorum for Oxford Medieval Texts.

On his faculty page at the University of Bristol, Dr. Bull welcomes research enquiries concerning various aspects of central medieval history including the early crusading movement, pilgrimage movements, studies of aristocracy, historiography, the cult of saints, and lay religiousity.
