| Queen Sibylla (b.1160-d.1190) was Queen of Jerusalem from 1186-1190. Her reign followed in the tradition of her grandmother Melisende, the former Queen of Jerusalem, as an influential female ruler. Among the more interesting aspects of her queenship was her coronation in 1186 as sole ruler of Jerusalem. [Continued...] She died of disease while under siege at the Battle of Acre in 1190.
